Yes, the death of Cliff, to whom he was like a brother, especially at such a young age, really devastated James, but I don't think the situation with Jason is only about that. As can be seen even in this short video, Jason had a unique charisma and of course voice too. His ability to connect with audiences in particular felt so natural and genuine. I think James and Lars could not digest this situation even though they continued on the road with Jason for many years, and unfortunately at one point, Jason, who could not stand the "mobbing" any longer, resigned. Unfortunately, it was a huge mistake for a band that left such a deep mark on music history.
